The Boy is Growing

A few new week-by-week pregnancy pictures.
I am definitely starting to stick out in front and getting wider from behind.
DON'T LOOK ;)
I love this belly and all the aches that seem to be coming from my expanding pelvis,
becuase it means my little man will soon be here.
Sorry, probably T.M.I.

Extra Ultrasounds at 23 Weeks and 27 Weeks

I had two more ultrasounds after the sex determination one, done during the 19th Week.  The reason for the 23 Weeks ultrasound was because they were unable to get the desired visuals of his mouth and his heart. He was already showing his little personality during the 19 Weeks ultrasound by refusing to move his arm, which was draped over his face or turn his body in the right direction. So we got to have another ultrasound! During the 23 Weeks ultrasound they were able to get a visual on his mouth, the 4-chamber heart visual on the other hand was not captured.

So my doctor said in a later appointment that if I wanted to, I could have another ultrasound. Well who would turndown another chance to see their unborn child...certainly not me! That is why we had a 27 Weeks ultrasound. Which was a success! The 4-chamber heart visual was captured and looked fabulous. It was a bit tricky because he once again wouldn't rotate the right direction and they had to work around the now calcifying ribcage bones.

The pictures from the 23 Weeks ultrasound (I didn't get any good ones from the 27 Weeks one)

Movement

The first time I felt the baby move was...
April 2nd
At 21 weeks I had started to wonder if I was ever going to feel him move.
So while I was quietly sitting at work, towards the end of the day, reading a book I felt a weird sensation in my belly.  I quickly dismissed it, but it happend a few moments later and then a couple of more times as I stopped reading and patiently waited for that sensation.  What a cool feeling!  I couldn't wait to get home and tell Colby that I had felt the baby move, I had been complaining to him for a couple of weeks that I still hadn't felt movement.  When I got home he wasn't very excited!  He said it wasn't all that exciting because he couldn't feel him move yet...lame!

April 22nd
It didn't take too long till Colby could feel the movements, 24 weeks pregnant.  While laying in bed with his arm over my stomach, he asked if the baby had just moved.  I proclaimed "YES"!  Then he got excited about feeling movements and continued to wait patiently for more.  Colby still gets excited when he feels the baby move and is always asking how the baby is doing and if he is moving at that moment.  I caught a great man and soon to be daddy!

All I have to say is what a cool and weird experience to feel a little human moving about in his temporary home.  I wish men could experience pregnancy for the special moments, they wouldn't survive the rest without a boat load of complaining however.

I am grateful to be a woman and to have this unique experience!

Boy or Girl that is the Question

"GENDER" Ultrasound (19 Weeks)
Can we say "HELLO"!!!!
I really think he wanted me to know that he was a Boy, and to stop thinking/hoping for a Girl, so he gave us what we needed to see to make that determination happen :)

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!
Like I mentioned before I like to get creative when I am making big announcements...which this falls into.  So for my parents and siblings (in Utah) I did the following...

Vanilla cupcakes with a colored middle!!!  It didn't work out so well.  As you can see the color was pushed to the sides and up.  You could see the color as you peeled of the foil and a little through the frosting.  It was still fun to make them and deliver the goodies.  My nephew, Sawyer, made an exclamation as to the insides being blue and so we were having a boy!  Kids just have a way of making the best statements.  My niece, Ella, will still be the only girl...I don't think she really minds...she gets super SPOILED!!!  But I guess thats cause girl clothes are so cute and we women just can't resist!

The rest of the ultrasound pictures from this visit
(We also got a video recording of the entire ultrasound on CD...super cool)
